To say “New Year’s Eve” is cheesy is an understatement. Love struck people running around and trying to have a good time. But that is also what makes the film fun.

It’s another holiday which makes for another film, yes some of them are lame and don’t work. However in “New Year’s Eve” some of it does work which makes it an average film to check out and enjoy. Much like ‘Valentine’s Day’ the lives of several singles and couples intertwine in New York City over the course of the countdown to 2012.

No New Year’s Eve is complete without Time’s Square ball drop. Claire Morgan (Hilary Swank) is in charge of the ball drop, but it is apparent she has another engagement on her mind. Those plans will need to be set aside after a malfunction may cause the ball to not drop.

Jensen (Bon Jov) is the evening’s entertainment, but his performance is for more then his fans as he is looking for forgiveness from former flame Laura (Katherine Heigl). Laura is the head chef for the big New Year’s event and can’t deal with drama and pushes Jensen away.

Across town a battle is beginning over the New Year baby. Apparently the first baby of the New Year is entitled to a cash prize. When two couples discover this they start a race to get the first newborn of 2012.

In another area of the hospital is Stan Harris (Robert De Niro) a dying man who’s last wish is to watch the ball drop from the roof of the hospital. Nurse Aimee (Halle Berry) is caring for Stan, but finds a few minutes to slip away and talk to her husband, a soldier via video chat.

Then there is the teen crowd who is trying to gather for the night’s festivities. Hailey (Abigail Breslin) is doing what it takes to get her mom Kim (Sarah Jessica Parker) to let her go, but it is not going over well. Of course you have the unexpected singles who have chemistry after being trapped in an elevator and then the lost loves who are desperate to find each other.

My personal favorite is Ingrid (Michelle Pfeiffer) who is looking to complete a list of New Year’s resolutions. Ingird’s first task is to quit her job which she does, then turning to errand runner Paul (Zac Efron) to help her finish her list. These two together were charming and hilarious.

To say “New Year’s Eve” is cheesy is an understatement. Yes it is what you will expect. Love struck people running around and trying to have a good time. But that is also what makes the film fun. It is an all star cast so most fans will find an actor they enjoy watching. If you want to get out and have a fun time and prepare for 2012 brave the cold to check out ‘New Years Eve”!

“The A-Team” has finally set the summer afire with the first action packed thrills of the year.

“The A-Team” has finally set the summer afire with the first action packed thrills of the year. Based on the 1980 series The A-Team features a group of Iraq War veterans who work to clear their names after being branded as war criminals for a crime they were framed for. The A-Team is brought on board to enter Baghdad in the hopes of returning plates being used to counterfeit US currency by the billions. After executing there plan and returning to base they realize they have been set up. After a hearing all four men are found guilty and sentenced to serve time in an army based prison.

Hannibal (Liam Neeson) is the leader, the man that always has a plan. From the inside he has been working diligently on proving their innocence in the hopes of saving the reputation of himself and his men. Face (Bradley Cooper) is the charismatic charmer always looking for trouble and finding it so easily. B.A. Baracus (Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson) is the rough tough dude and as his knuckles say he pity’s the fool. Murdock (Sharlto Copley) is the slightly insane ranger who is the scariest pilot I have ever seen.

These four eccentric men make up the A-Team. The plots they devise are outrageous but incredible. The feature film is as loud, fantastic and perfected at making its mark like the 1980’s series. Liam Neeson proves he has what it takes to take the lead in this film. Bradley Cooper offered another womanizing performance that even the females will enjoy. Rampage Jackson pleasantly surprised me with his ability to step outside the octagon from his MMA fighting and prove to be a force to be reckoned with. Finally Sharlto Copley stole many of the scenes with his crazed bewildered eyes. Together these men were entertaining and unstoppable. Every thrilling moment had viewers entertained to the very final scene. “The A-Team” is the first action film this year that will have you sparking up conversation about the explosive antics and nonsense that makes you love it.

When Gillian suddenly has to leave town, Bob volunteers to babysit the children so he can earn their approval. But when one of the kids mistakenly downloads a top-secret formula from his computer, Bob’s archenemy, a Russian terrorist, moves in for the attack, forcing Bob to juggle the roles of spy and prospective stepfather in the most challenging mission of his career!

REVIEW

Valentine’s Days is a holiday that most people either love or hate. In my opinion it is about purchasing the love of that special someone. Whether its dinner, flowers, diamonds or chocolates it all comes done to the pressures and expectations to prove that love. The film “Valentine’s Day” proves this over and over again in its story of love gone wrong. Following the lives of many lovers showing how desperate they are to have that special someone on this special day. The first couple we see is Morley (Jessica Alba) and Reed (Ashton Kutcher). Reed is head over heels for his live in girlfriend Morley and proposes to her. Overly excited about her saying yes he tells everyone, only to find out later that Morley is unsure about this big commitment.

Throughout the day Reed runs his local floral shop in Los Angeles and is extremely busy. Julia (Jennifer Garner) his best friend stops by to share her news about how she is falling for the guy of her dreams. Dr. Harrison Copeland (Patrick Dempsey) is that perfect guy that Julia can’t stop thinking about. Disappointed that he will be working on Valentine’s Day she decides to surprise him at the hospital. Julia only finds heartbreak when she learns that McDreamy is not working, but instead has been lying.

Just as it looks like everyone’s Valentine’s Day is becoming a tragic chain of events they bring in the teenagers who are super excited to carry bears around at school all day and share unlimited make out sessions. Felicia (Taylor Swift) is one of these overzealous teens who is in puppy love with her boyfriend Willy (Taylor Lautner). Their high school friends Grace (Emma Roberts) and Alex (Carter Jenkins) are planning to make love for the first time to celebrate the occasion.

As some are living the day up and loving everything about it there are a few who hate it. Kara (Jessica Biel) celebrates the day with her fellow singles by bashing it with a loveless dinner. Kara soon discovers she has chemistry with a fellow loveless player Kelvin (Jamie Foxx). While they are discovering there interest in each other so are Jason (Topher Grace) and Liz (Anne Hathaway) co-workers who after a few dates are trying to figure out how to celebrate the day. Meanwhile Capt. Kate Hazeltine (Julia Roberts) is flying home to be with her loved one for only twenty four hours. Something that Holden (Bradley Cooper) is impressed by. Other lovers we see are Edgar (Hector Elizondo) and Estelle (Shirley MacLaine) who have been in love for many years only to discover a dark secret in their pass.

All these major stars together could wind up being a complete bust, but it actually works. “Valentine’s Day” displays all the emotions Valentine’s Day brings up including love, regrets, lust, heartbreak and deceit. With so many wonderful performers the ones who stood out would be Jessica Biel who was very relatable to a girlfriend most woman tend to have. George Lopez was underused in this film and his comedy could have added a much needed undertone. Eric Dane offered a shocking jaw dropping performance that everyone will be talking about. And finally let’s talk about the over-rated Taylor Swift. I’m sorry Taylor, but your acting was awful. It was overplayed and so annoying that I was waiting for your heart to break. Stick to your singing as a career, acting is not your forte. “Valentine’s Day” will be the perfect film to catch with your loved one. A little on the long side, but it takes time to tell everyone’s love story after all. Attention guys: skip the roses and truffles and take her to something she will really love.

Up in the Air: From Jason Reitman, the Oscar® nominated director of “Juno,” comes a dramatic comedy called “Up in the Air” starring Oscar® winner George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and after he’s met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.

Old Dogs: Two best friends – one unlucky-in-love divorcee and the other a fun-loving bachelor – have their lives turned upside down when they’re unexpectedly charged with the care of 7-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives. The not-so-kid-savvy bachelors stumble in their efforts to take care of the twins, leading to one debacle after another, and perhaps to a new-found understanding of what’s really important in life.

Precious: Precious Jones, an inner-city high school girl, is illiterate, overweight, and pregnant… again. Naïve and abused, Precious responds to a glimmer of hope when a door is opened by an alternative-school teacher. She is faced with the choice to follow opportunity and test her own boundaries. Prepare for shock, revelation and celebration.

Planet 51: Planet 51 is a galactic sized animated alien adventure comedy revolving around American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker, who lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent 1950s America, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders…like Chuck! With the help of his robot companion “Rover” and his new friend Lem, Chuck must navigate his way through the dazzling, but bewildering, landscape of Planet 51 in order to escape becoming a permanent part of the Planet 51 Alien Invaders Space Museum.

Capitalism: A Love Story: On the 20-year anniversary of his groundbreaking masterpiece Roger & Me, Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story comes home to the issue he’s been examining throughout his career: the disastrous impact of corporate dominance on the everyday lives of Americans (and by default, the rest of the world). But this time the culprit is much bigger than General Motors, and the crime scene far wider than Flint, Michigan.

From Middle America, to the halls of power in Washington, to the global financial epicenter in Manhattan, Michael Moore once again takes filmgoers into uncharted territory. With both humor and outrage, Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story explores a taboo question: What is the price that America pays for its love of capitalism? Years ago, that love seemed so innocent. Today, however, the American dream is looking more like a nightmare as families pay the price with their jobs, their homes and their savings.

Moore takes us into the homes of ordinary people whose lives have been turned upside down; and he goes looking for explanations in Washington, DC and elsewhere. What he finds are the all-too-familiar symptoms of a love affair gone astray: lies, abuse, betrayal…and 14,000 jobs being lost every day. Capitalism: A Love Story is both a culmination of Moore’s previous works and a look into what a more hopeful future could look like. It is Michael Moore’s ultimate quest to answer the question he’s posed throughout his illustrious filmmaking career: Who are we and why do we behave the way that we do?

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day: When a priest is murdered in Boston, the MacManus brothers abandon their secluded life in Ireland to look into the case.

We discover a lot about love and that Taylor Swift can't act! Oh...and Eric Dane shocks the hell out of us.

My Valentine’s Day Memory

Scott: a hot dinner and a hot date

Lori: smooching with my husband

Diana: When I was in third grade waiting to get a special valentine on a boy I had a crush on, found out he gave all the girls in the class the same valentine card. LOL

Larry: Before my wife and I got married I tried to ask her out multiple times and she rejected me and then the week before valentines day I asked for the last time and she said yes. we spent a romantic night out on the town hanging out and eating dinner together. I gave her a really nice ring that she had been looking at saving up for and we got married not long after.

Suzanne: I have 5 kids who are all over the age of 20 now. My favorite memory of valentines day was waking up early to decorate our kitchen table with candy hearts, chocolates and teddy bears for the kids. Seeing their eyes light up with excitement. The best part is seeing them now in there young adult years and they still light up over the littlest of things.

Lydia: My husband and I went to the melting pot and spent a romantic evening on the plaza and eating the best dinner together then went home and watched romance movies and cuddled.

Alicia: Fannie MAe Chocoalte/Being with chocolate

MJ: Three days before Valentines Day, I had my first date with my honey. I was not expecting anything, but he showed up with a dozen roses and tickets to a dinner theatre. It really impressed my three sons and, of course, me.

Aaron: a night out on the plaza at P.F. Chang’s, followed by a movie and a romantic night at my place!

Patty: Spending the day getting ready then spending the night curled up on the couch watching old movies, fixing a romantic dinner, wine, and dessert – what could be more perfect??

Lynda: Last year Valentines Day was on a Saturday which I always work the weekends so we decided to do dinner at home. We have two kids as well so it’s always hard to find a sitter on this day. My husband made me broiled lobster with a side dish of pasta and since I love strawberries, he prepared me a chocolate and apple covered strawberries which my boys got to help with:) He had them wound down in the other room and set out romantic candles with plates in place in the dining room. It was amazing<3 Sometimes I forget how romantic he can be.

Donsha: Got triplets no love just baby sitting

Letysha: getting flowers and candy

Meg: getting flowers and candy at work

Matthew: MY MOST MEMORABLE VALENTINES HAPPENED BACK IN 2002. I WAS ATTENDING SCHOOL IN CHICAGO AND MY GIRLFRIEND WAS BACK HOME IN KANSAS CITY. ON A WHIM I DECIDED TO DRIVE HOME AND SURPRISE HER. SHE WAS PRETTY BUMMED ABOUT NOT ONLY SPENDING VALENTINES DAY ALONE, BUT ALSO HAVING TO WORK. SO I WENT TO THE FLORIST AND BOUGHT HER 2 DOZEN ROSES, (NOT A CHEAP THING TO DO ON VALENTINES DAY, TALK ABOUT PRICE GOUGING!) AND STOPPED AT A LOCAL VIDEO STORE AND BOUGHT TWO OF HER FAVORITE ROMANTIC MOVIES F OR US TO WATCH TOGETHER. I WAS REALLY EXCITED WHEN I PULLED UP OUTSIDE HER WORK, I GRABBED ALL MY GIFTS AND HEADED IN TO SURPRISE HER. THE LOOK ON HER FACE WAS PRICELESS, AT FIRST THERE WAS SHOCK AND THEN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SMILE SPREAD ACROSS HER FACE. IN THAT MOMENT I KNEW IT ALL WAS WORTH IT, THE DRIVE, THE RIDICULOUSLY PRICED ROSES, THE CLASSES THAT I MISSED, ALL FORGOTTEN IN THE BEAUTY OF THAT ONE SMILE. I KNEW I WOULD SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE TRYING TO KEEP HER SMILING, AND THANK GOD I HAVE THAT CHANCE BECAUSE SHE IS NOW MY WIFE. GOING ON EIGHT YEARS NOW, AND STILL DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY.

Sandy: just being happy with my honey.

Nathan: never had a chance to have one… When is it any ways

Diana: My husband proposed on February 14, 2002. The best day of my life!

Kim: Waking up to find myself alone and ok with it.

Michelle: My now husband proposed to me on Valentines day 11 years ago and every year since we have celebrated.

Brett: personalized m&ms

Amanda: spending my Valentine’s Day with fellow singles and having an amazing night dressing up going to eat in a nice place laughing and having a really good time.

Ben: It started out fantastic… stayed behind at home to do some sneaky decorating before i headed to work. Unbeknownst to her I had stayed to decorate the house with cut out paper hearts, streamers, candy, etc. for a wonderful surprise for her when she got home…. around 2pm i got a call from her saying she was going home early feeling sick. 30 minutes later i got another call… she was home, and had puked all over the kitchen floor and was trying to keep the dog out of it….. needless to say i left work early to take care of her, and we ended up spending the rest of our valentine’s day in the hospital finding out……. she had food poisoning from peter pan peanut butter…bet y’all were thinking she was pregnant.

Lindsay: Meeting my boyfriend at the airport with a big “Will you be my Valentine?” sign.

Cecil: Buying a girlfriend a $50+ box of expensive Godiva chocolates for Valentine’s Day to find out that she is allergic to chocolate and doesn’t like nuts. Obviously, I didn’t score any points with her one but those chocolates were “out of sight”!

Pete: MY WIFE AND I WERE ENGAGED ON V-DAY BACK IN 1982 AND WE ALWAYS MAKE IT A SPECIAL NIGHT
” WINK – WINK ” …. STILL GOING STRONG AFTER 28 YRS !!!

Nina: For the first time ever I was dating someone on Valentine’s day. Never had made a fuss about it before. It was just another day. Thought this time it would be different. Turns out it was. He ended up working, not answering the phone to confirm plans and returned my call too late to do anything for the day. So I ended up being a bit more upset than the previous years of Feb 14th. Not soon after I had a phone conversation that started like this. me:’you know we haven’t done anything as a couple lately’ him:’what did you have in mind?’ me:’demoting our relationship to friendship’ him: *silence* me:’oh you thought i meant what activity i had in mind!’ him: ‘maybe we should talk’ me: ‘yeah’ (whoops.)

Deborah: My sweetie’s birthday is Feb 10th. We usually celebrate Valentin’s Day and his birthday on the same day with a romantic dinner at a restaurant. One year he surprised me with a dinner at Crown Center and a room at the hotel where we could overlook the city at night.

Jose: Is when my girl friend had gotten up to make me some breakfast and it had a valentines card saying “Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was choice, falling in love with you was beyond my control.”

Chad: Although the relationship with my boyfriend of five years was on rocky waters, I was hopeful that Valentine’s Day would help make things a little better. After all, our wedding day was set for the end of February and all these issues could just be a matter of ‘cold feet’. Two days before Valentine’s Day, he called me and told me that we were going out to eat on Valentine’s Day and he had something important to tell me. I was excited about the news and looked forward to it. Valentine’s Day came around and I was dressed and prepped for the big night and the big news that he was to tell me. He picked me up, no flowers, which was odd. Dinner went by very solemnly and extremely quiet on his part. Finally, the silence broke, not of laughter or joy, but of my quiet whimpering and tears. He had told me that he wanted to be out of the relationship and that he had no intention of going forward with our wedding. And to further add insult to injury, he knocked up his co-worker, who has been pregnant for over 4 months. What do you say to that? Valentines never felt the same again, at least in my memories, Valentine will always remain black like a prank from Halloween.

Melanie: My Husband and I have been together since August of 2006. Our 1st Valentine’s Day together was when he found out his grandma was dying of cancer. We made dinner plans, and never went. Sadly she passed away a couple of months later. Two Valentine’s after that we have spent apart because he was deployed for 7 month during the holiday season. Hopefully this year, now the he is out of the navy and we are settled in our new home, we can have our 1st real Valentines Day together.

Amy: I remember making those cute Valentine’s Day boxes in elementary school… and being so excited to see that the “Cute Boy” gave me one. (Well of course he gave EVERY classmate one, but still… LOL!)

Elissa: I had just started dating this guy, and he hadn’t said anything about Valentines Day plans, so I made plans with one of my girlfriends instead. It came to the day before Valentines and he said something about going to dinner on Valentines Day. I told him that I already had plans with my friend and stuck to it. My friend and I had a fabulous time and that guy was history not long after that.

Beth: My first Valentine’s day after I got married. My husband bought me a heart shaped box of chocolates about 18″ across. I was young and skinny then. I was quite impressed.

Pam: I met my husband on Feb. 8th, 1997. Before I left he said we should go out and maybe next weekend. I said Yes, sounds fun. So I left that night thinking I had a Valentine date. I guess realizing the next weekend was Valentine’s day freaked him out a little and so he said let’s go out on Saturday the 15th. So, it’s always been kind of a joke since that year that our Valentine’s day is February 15th.

Drahomira: My best Valentine was two years ago, when I obtained 3 various bouquets and I never found out whom they were from. Two years later, and still haven’t found out….

Warren: My entire family and my wife’s family went to Valentine Dinner at Gambucci’s in Olathe, KS. It has closed since. I booked the Bridal room and we all set down for a classic Italian dinner. My wife (girlfriend at the time) had carried in a heart shape box of chocolates from Godiva. I told her it was a gift from my father to my mother and he was keeping it a secret by letting us hide it from her. As the dinner progressed, my wife would take her daughter to the girls room, and I used the opportunity to ask her father permission to marry her. Finally, with everyone at the table knowing what was going to happen, except her. We took the chocolate around the huge table to give to my mother, when I stopped turned dropped to one knee and proposed. She was so surprised the first words out of her mouth “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.” Then she said yes.

Abbey: I was engaged on Valentine’s day 2005 and we were engaged for 4 years…so this Valentine’s day will be the first celebration that I didn’t make that stupid mistake!!!!

Rachel: When I was 18 I had to work on Valentines Day and my then boyfriend (now husband) showed up at work with 2 dozen roses and some of my favorite romantic movies. My bosses were so jealous that day

Shelby: going out with a bunch of friends, enjoying being single.

Brad: my wife giving me the entire day to play golf.

Jennifer: my hubby surprising me with a trip to Australia.

Jonna: My husband scheduled his knee surgery on Valentine’s Day. After scheduling it, he asked me if it was okay to have it on that day.

Gary: Taking my wife out on a date without the kids…We went to the Jazz and she ate a whole tray of crawfish…now instead of two boys we now have four boys so anytime out is great.

Judi: My favorite V’day memory, one year for Valentines we could not afford much so I decided that I would make my husband a Valentines that he would not forget. I cleaned out an old pickle jar and hand wrote 365 different love notes and placed them in the jar. When I gave it to him I told him that this is the Valentines that keeps on giving, he was allowed to open one note a day for the next 365 days (until next Valentines Day) and he would know every day just how much I love him each and every day. Just to make it interesting, I looked up how to spell I love you in different languages and put those in the jar. He is my true love for the past 20 years and hoping (God willing) for many more to come.

Carmen: when my husband and i got married the 1st 9months and 1st valentines together he got up early went into the kitchen made me freshly breakfast n brought it to me in bed also he included a rose n a big bear with a big heart to complete

Carrie: Having flowers sent to my work by my husband who happened to be in Iraq at the time.

JoReviews Fan: I broke up with my girlfriend…. i’m a bad person. Anonymous

MJ: Since my birthday is on the 17th, most of the time my husband combines Valentine’s with my birthday present. But, al least he never forgets my birthday!

Nancy: Eating my favorite chocolate lava cake!

Maria: Sharing the whole day with my love, having a picnic and just talking with each =D

John: Last year when I sent my Mom (widower) a Valentine gift bag (candies, scarf). My wife did the same for her Mom (also a widower) and they both got a big kick out of it.

Francisco: when i ask my girlfriend to go out with me that was so romantic

Jerome: Going to see Great Expectations with my girlfriend and walking out wanting my money back…

Kim: trying to go out to dinner at a nice restaurant in the middle of an ice storm. We got to the restaurant and found they had no power! We picked up fast food (the only close place with power) and ate at home with the kids.

Amber: My Daddy always got me a valentine. Not to sound sorry for myself, but even when a boy in school didn’t get me one, I knew I would have one from my Daddy! He gave me a valentine every year until I got married, then he said it was my husband’s turn.

Robert: I was dating a very shy girl. I entered us in the Kansas City Kissing Contest last year. Well, she was too shy to go up on stage to kiss in front of a big audience. I had a pretty co-worker meet us there and told my girlfriend that I was going to do the kissing contest with my co-worker. Well, all of a sudden her shyness went away and she went up on the stage and started kissing. We came in 6th, but it was sure fun and a valentines day I’ll never forget.

Colene: Going out to a nice dinner. I’m unable to eat now due to tongue cancer I have a G-tube. My husband and I had always enjoyed gong out for a nice dinner together on Valentine’s Day.

Vicki: buying Valentine cards for my children to pass out and making cupcakes or cookies for them to take to school.

Susie: My first Valentine’s Day date- when in high school- He was supposed to pick up around 7:00 for dinner and a movie and he didn’t show up- 8:00 came, 9:00 came, 10:00 came and it was terrible- my first Valentine’s Day date and I get stood up. at 11:30 there is a knock at the door- there he was with a beautiful heart shaped box of candy with the satin, lace, etc. and roses- we were having a snowstorm and he went off the road and it took that long to get a tow truck to pull him out- turned out to be a great evening!! Wich we had cell phones back then!!!!

Germean: 2-14-1993 My best friend (a guy) new I loved stuffed animals and he bought me a “HUGE” white stuffed bear…. It was as tall as me! I love that bear and ended up giving it to my first neice for her babyroom!

Theresa: Being a full time mom there is not much room in the budget. When we finally could get a car that I could drive without carpooling my love to work, my favorite Valentine’s day memory is when my husband called me to meet him at the dealership. When I arrived they had the car I wanted in the color I wanted that they had to bring from Iowa!

Christy: Receiving my first Valentine from my little 4 year-old niece a couple years ago… How sweet to get a little card from someone so special!

Sandy: 2nd Grade…..getting that “special” valentine from a crush!

Steve: The night before Valentine’s Day, I went in to work to decorate a coworker’s desk with Valentine wrapped Hershey Kisses. I had used a bunch of bags and the entire cubical was just about covered. There were Kisses all over. I always felt that this coworker and I had a connection. I didn’t leave a note, since if we had a connection, she would ask, and if she didn’t ask, there was no connection and no sexual harassment case at work. When I got to work the next day, one of my male coworkers was very upset. Apparently she had been dating him, but they were trying to keep it a secret at work. He got so worked up, the secret was out. I never admitted it was me. They ended up getting married. On her last day working there, she asked me again if it was me and I confessed. We did have a connection, just too late. I was happy I tried something and was creative at it. Valentine’s day gave me the chance/courage to try something in the spirit of the holiday.

Shaunta: the Valentines Day that I got the car I wanted all my life and in the driver seat I had 2 dozen roses- the best ever

Carol: when my husband proposed to me down on the Plaza. He usually doesn’t like valentines day since he has had bad luck on that day b4, and he knew I wouldn’t be expecting it. It was so romantic.

Brandy: When I was in middle school I had a boyfriend and he broke up with me the day before Valentine’s Day. I was devestated and went home sobbing to my mom. For whatever reason my mom thought that it might have been because my boyfriend didn’t want to buy me a Valentine’s Day gift so she called him and told him that she would give him the money to buy me a gift!!! I was mortified that she did that and can honestly say that I didn’t have another boyfriend for the rest of my middle school days.

Jon: My wife and I have a tradition where I make Phad Thai at home every year. It’s really delicious. We just make it a quiet night at home just the two of us. It’s very romantic.

Melodie: It was my last Valentines Day with my Husband (he passed away the following August). He took me out to Dinner at Applebee’s with both our sons they were 3 & 5 and he gave me a heart necklace with a tiny Diamond in it. It means the world to me.

Brandy: When I was in the second grade living in Bama a lil boy left some roses on my desk. At the time, I just thought the teacher had been giving out something and I went to return them she said no they’re yours. I had nothing to do with it. When I got back to my desk there was a note that said. You maybe black and I may be white. But can you be my Valentine? Jeffrey. It was from a class mate that I always thought was just cool people. I said sure. Of course second grade I’m thinking. Whatever. That afternoon he walked me to my bus. And said Color is just a color. But my heart is red. You’ve made my day. Thank you. Every year from the time on even though we were’nt in many classes together until I left in 94 & we were with other our significant others. Jeffrey always bought me a valentine. Well…that was second grade now. You can’t even get no body to act right. Where are all the good men at? Black white, hispanic. latino mixed. Where are you????

Kelley: When my boyfriend sent me roses to my work. It was such a lovely surprise!

Dawn: When I was growing up, every Valentine’s Day morning, my mom would have a Valentine’s treat waiting for my sister and I when we came to the kitchen for breakfast. Every year, without fail. I love my momma.

Christy: My kids tore pieces of pink construction paper (they were supposed to be in the shape of hearts) they spread them out throughout the hall way so when I woke up I would see them.

Lori: My 2 dogs had hearts on their collars and cards in their mouths. My boyfriend did it.

Doris: The last two years…my husband has been out of town on business. We hope to make up for that this year.

Martha: When I woke up there was a tray with cold cereal and (spilt milk) and a cookie with a home made valentine cards from my kids.

Levera: My Valentine ‘s Day best memory was when my husband took me to Chicago for the weekend, We shopped, went out to dinner and took in a show.

Shelley: actually a tradition. Our first year of marriage, we didn’t want to fight the crowds, plus we had NO money. So, we did a cheap chinese buffet. Years later we are still happily married, and eating chinese buffets for Valentine’s Day!

Nicole: My boyfriend and I lived 2 hours apart. It was our first Valentine’s Day as a couple and he had to work, so we couldn’t spend it together. He ended up driving up to surprise me in my dorm. That was 9 years ago. He is now my hubby.

Josh: …of last year. My girlfriend and i hadn’t been together that long at this point, but i wanted to do something special (without a lot out of pocket). So i had her come over, and we made lasagna together. I had hung hear-shaped notes all over my ceiling with things i like about her. Then we watched a romantic movie. But it was my favorite memory because of the girl i was with.

Larry: Valentine’s day isn’t a huge day in our house. We don’t need a special day to show each other our love.

Laurie: I remember when I was in 4th grade, I missed Valentine’s day because I was sick. I was so upset that I couldn’t be there to hand out my valentines. I did come back to school to find all the valentines given to me in my cubby, but I was still sad I missed it.

Elishia: Valentine’s Day… a holiday i never get to celebrate. Don’t get me wrong, I love Valentines Day, its cute and adorable and I would love to have someone buy me candy and roses.. but I get short shafted EVERY YEAR! My birthday is only a few days before Valentine’s Day, and whenever I have a significant other I always let them off the hook since they just bought me a birthday present. It’s almost as bad as being a December baby!!! Maybe this year will be different, i better start dropping hints now!

PLANET 51
Planet 51 is a galactic sized animated alien adventure comedy revolving around American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker, who lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it.
This film has been rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America for mild sci-fi action and some suggestive humor.

Easy Virture, Wolverine and Next Day Air.

Three films with a variety of targetted audiences. Something for every personality. Hitting the Red Box and available for purchase today on DVD are:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine: Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a superstar – as the fierce fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury. Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine’s epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film series have long been anticipated.

Next Day Air: A haze-brained courier (Faison) sparks off a chain of uproarious events after he mistakenly delivers a package containing some high grade product to the wrong address and into the hands of two bumbling, wannabe gangsters (Epps and Harris). But these two fools have no clue that their neighbors down the hall — the REAL gangster and his feisty girlfriend — are connected to the Mexican mob and will do whatever it takes to recover their package.

Easy Virtue: The twenties have roared… the thirties have yet to swing. John Whittaker, a young Englishman, falls madly in love with Larita, a sexy and glamorous American woman, and they marry impetuously. However when the couple returns to the family home, his mother Mrs. Whittaker has an instant allergic reaction to her new daughter-in-law.

Larita tries her best to fit in but fails to tiptoe through the minefield laid by her mother-in-law. Larita quickly realizes Mrs. Whittaker’s game and sees that she must fight back if she’s not going to lose John. A battle of wits ensues and sparks soon fly. Mrs. Whittaker manipulates every situation to undermine her, while Larita remains frustratingly calm and engineers sassy counter attacks.

Before long, Mrs. Whittaker’s manipulation starts to work on John and Larita feels their love is in danger of slipping away.
