If you are a Twilight fan you may have already seen Eclipse, and you know you want to see it again and now you have an excuse! The rumors started yesterday and it looks like this rumor is going to be proven true this weekend. The cast from TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will be making surprise appearances at many theatres around the country this weekend. It is not known at this point if Kansas City is part of this tour. But wouldn’t you hate it if you missed out on seeing your favorite vamps or wolves. Don’t wait and buy your tickets now as they are selling out fast!

As a string of mysterious killings in Seattle is grabbing the attention of Forks residents the Cullen clan begin to become concerned as Alice (Ashley Greene) has a premonition of what or who they are after. It becomes clear rather quickly that the army of “newborn” vampires has Bella as their target and is on their way to Forks in the hunt. Knowing that the newborns, recently turned vampires who are hungry for blood and more powerful, may be more than the Cullen’s can handle they turn to the wolf packs.

Asking Jacob (Taylor Lautner) if he thinks the pack would help them in the battle and call a truce to work together in the hopes of saving Bella. Of course Jacob is ready to do anything to protect Bella and the vampires and wolves begin training together in the hopes of defeating the army.  The army will not be the only opponent as Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) returns. We learn she is behind the army as the leader in the shadows and has convinced Riley (Xavier Samuel) to be the front man to kill Bella and the Cullen’s.

The battle between the Cullen’s, newborns and wolves is by the far the best action sequence from all of the Twilight movies. Following the book closely Eclipse offers many Team Jacob and Team Edward scenes that all fans will love. Eclipse has the most entertaining dialogue between the two loves of Bella. Finally we are also given a vision into the past of the characters of Rosalie (Nikki Reed) and Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) giving us a better idea of how they got to where they are today. Japer who I have always found awkward to watch finally steps into the spotlight and made you like his character. One character not winning any love would be Victoria. Bryce Dallas Howard could not compete with her predecessor’s performance and I found her to be a complete disappointment.

The chemistry between Bella and Edward and Bella and Jacob was there. They definitely heated up the screen, but for me I found Kristen Stewart a little uncomfortable to watch on screen this time. I think back to her performance in the original and somewhere along the lines her performance as Bella has become strange. The romance, action and special effects made Eclipse better then New Moon. This film will not disappoint Twihards and will have everyone bummed that Breaking Dawn is a year and half away. Enjoy your holiday and get lost in the whimsical tale that Eclipse has to offer.

I received my copy of New Moon a day early to review all the specials it contains. It is a two-disc special edition.  Disc one features commentary by director Chris Weitz and Editor Peter Lambert. It offers some great insight and has a valid entertaining factor.

Disc 2 I found to be the best with it’s behind the scenes feature called The Journey Continues and music videos featuring some great talent from Anya Marina, Death Cab for Cutie, Muse, and Mutemath. Disc 2 is divided up into several parts and offers you some very exclusive sneak peeks at Eclipse and behind the scenes footage you will not find anywhere else.

A look behind the scenes of how Twilight changed the actors lives after its release. Then finally a look ahead to what most fans want, footage of the cast and crew filming Eclipse that is about 30 minutes long.

We know most Twihards have already been picking up their copies left and right, but be careful when selecting which version. Some may have more features suited for each fan. Now the countdown is on with only three months until the saga continues.

As we waited for our screening we grabbed a bite at MacGuffins (Fork & Screen) and they were even Twilighters offering us two drink specials in honor of New Moon. Both were delicious and a great way to start the night. Following our drink frenzy we headed into our screening which let out a little after nine. To my amazement the line’s for the midnight showing of Twilight: New Moon which I thought were already long had somehow tripled. There were fans lined up to the back of AMC Studio.

I must say I was impressed. These fans came out in full force. It was not just at Olathe Studio but it was also across town at AMC Mainstreet and Phoenix Theatres at the Legends. Twilight: New Moon may not be your type of film and you may plain just hate it, but the fans that have read the books or loved Twilight have shown that they are going to keep this film strong. This is what the entertainment industry loves to see. Even though Rotten Tomatoes show the rating at a mere 28% as of this morning that does not matter to the fans, us critics just share an opinion and most of the time our readers will see a film regardless of what we say or think. I love it! Not to mention this film is already slated to hit the box office in a big way with more than $100 million ticket presales!!! More power to you Twilight fans, now get some sleep.

Realizing all he does is hurt Bella, Edward must choose to let her go. In the hopes that she will be better off without him Edward and the Cullen’s leave Forks. Bella is heartbroken and turns to dangerous acts that cause her to have an adrenaline rush, as these are the only times she sees Edward. One of these dangerous hobbies she takes up is dirt bikes. She picks up a couple junkers and turns to her good friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner) to help her get them up and running. The pair continues to grow closer with each day. Despite Jacob’s feelings for Bella she is still in love with Edward.

As Jacob disappears for an extended period of time Bella becomes concerned. She tracks Jacob down and he tells her to remember the story her told her about the Cullen’s treaty with the wolf pack. Trying to get Bella to realize what has happened to him. Finally putting the pieces together Bella confronts the other wolves and after a heated argument, we see Jacob shed his clothes and attack to protect his love. Once Jacob’s secret is revealed his job is to protect Bella from Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) who has returned to Forks to take Edward’s love from him.

After many months Alice returns to Forks and is waiting for Bella at her home. She believes Bella has died due to a vision and returned to see if it was true before telling Edward. Sadly Alice is too late as Edward received word of the death and calls Bella’s home only to have Jacob answer and tell him that Charlie (Billy Burke) is planning a funeral. This causes Edward to desire his own life be taken (much like Romeo & Juliet). Rushing to Edward, literally running into his arms, the two are reunited in one of the most intense scenes. The pair returns to Forks after a misfortune with Volturi where it is ordered that Bella be turned to a vampire soon, or they will come for her. Once home in Forks Bella and Edward are together as if they had never parted. Their time apart has only made their love stronger than ever which is proven when Bella insists Edward turn her which he agrees to do only if it is forever. Forever meaning a marriage for the two as he proposes.

“Twilight: New Moon” was not as intense at the first one. It also lost the romance factor. I did not enjoy it as much as the first, but it still had a good energy to it. The special effects of the wolves were superb, especially at making these massive creatures life-like. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson still had that strong chemistry that we all loved in Twilight. Not lacking in the heat department were Stewart and the very buff Taylor Lautner. Taylor proved that he deserved this role and his many months of work paid off. There was not as much action as the original and Victoria sadly was underused. A few minor disappointments can’t spoil this film. “Twilight: New Moon” will be the excitement of fans everywhere, rightfully so. It has romance, action, excitement and a love that has only grown from time apart. Don’t fret about seeing Bella’s answer to Edward’s proposal as “Eclipse” is only a mere six months away.

Twilight fans will have reason to rejoice and flock to the theaters again.  

The next film in the series is not out until November 20, but a brand new, theatrical teaser trailer from THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, will debut this Friday, exclusively with the Summit Entertainment August 14 release, BANDSLAM.    

For fans who simply can’t wait for Friday, a 14-second tease of the new trailer will be airing nationwide, starting Tuesday, August 11th.
