Another Winsteads or Steak & Shake with a different name.

I’m always up for a burger joint and when I saw a new one open on 135th Street it was the next stop on my list. Freddy’s is a new local joint specializing in burgers and shakes. Diner style with that old time feel. I tried the patty melt which was average in size with fries. The burger was very juicy and had good flavor, while the fries were cut thin and salted perfectly. The meal itself was on the expensive side for lunch. I did not try any of the shakes or ice cream on this visit, but would love to next time. This new dive is very similar to Steak & Shake or Winsteads, not any originality here…so if you like those places then this would be another excellent choice. I was not thrilled with it, but I can’t say I would not stop in again. This location does offer dine-in and drive thru.

Best Burgers Around

Just off of Westport Road and east of Southwest Trafficway you will find an amazing little bar & grill with the best burgers in town. The burger joint sits inside a flea market shop and will have you salivating for more. I visited the burger joint on Saturday after 8pm and the bar & grill was mildly busy at this time. I ordered the flea market burger with cheese and grilled onions with an order of cheese fries. We took a seat at the bar ordered a couple drinks and awaited our name to be called when our order was ready. Once called we dressed our burgers up with all the goodies offered. My burger was cooked just right and was very delicious. The taste is still one of the best burgers I have ever had. The cheese fries were amazing, curled fries and lots of cheese. I have not been to the Flea Market in three years since my most recent visit, and I find myself wondering why I don’t visit more often. This is an excellent burger joint in the Kansas City area and you definitely have to eat here. They also have live bands on Friday nights, along with karaoke Saturday evenings. Make sure to have cash on you when you visit as they do not accept any plastic, but no worries there is an ATM located inside. Click here for a buy one – get one free coupon for this restaurant. Expires Jan. 31, 2009
