This movie was scary, but it had terrible acting. The male actor was fine, but the female actor’s acting was faker than a porn star’s orgasm. All she does is take fast, deep breaths, whines and complains about confronting the paranormal activity (Like how I put the title of the movie in that sentence? ZING!) and is in PMS mode the entire time! If they chose a different actress (maybe one who isn’t 200 pounds overweight and breathes like a nerd with asthma) it would be one of the BEST movies I have ever seen.

This movie had no plot and couldn’t scare a 5 year old. Made up dumb movie waste your dollars I did.

OMG! Love all the haters of this movie.;-)

The movie is good and entertaining. It is scary because it is so real. The only acting in this movie is from the specialist, who visits and does nothing. I wont his job, Hi I am here, pay me, gotta go.

The way the movie is made is what makes it good. Low budget, low effects, no name actors. It helps make it more real.

Oscar worthy, hell no. I would not even give it an MTV award, but it will win one, because it is MTV.

I agree with Steve, the acting made them seem like your average, everyday suburban couple that you’d see anywhere. That’s what made it seem less “done.” I think the movie would have been less believeable if it was filled with A-list celebs..just like Blair Witch wouldn’t have had the same effect if it had been with Brad Pitt and Scarlett Jo or someone equally famous lol

Only judge acting… IF YOU ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT ACTING is. Paranormal Activity sets itself apart because the acting is so real, it’s entirely plausible that this event could have occured with these two people.

I saw the movie and it scared me. Of course having actually experienced something simular not to that extreme but simular it is very scary and real. I guess if you have never experienced something like that you’ll think the movie is stupid and flawed, bad acting, but I don’t think that was the point of the movie it’s based on your belief of whats real or not. And if you honestly believe we are the only ones in this whole universe – do your research.

Well for all the bad acting I’m sure those two actors have made more money than we could ever dream of in a life time. Have to love the American Dream!!!

I completely agree with Rob. I was terribly bored the entire time, and the film was not scary in the least. It was impressive what they did with the money they had, but the acting was terrible. If anybody is scared by this movie, I suggest they avoid any movies with a mention of ghosts.

I’m not understanding why this is getting such HUGE raves?? Yeah, I waited in line, and wow…..
Pretty lame. This movie had no plot/character development, this was the MOST boring couple on THE face of the earth! It was extremely predicable, and offer NO surprises. It presented nothing new or anything original. Seriously? Ok, it cost 15k to make and none of that went to acting classes. Not worth the hype.
