G.I. Joe mania is crossing the country, but the stars from the upcoming film made a special trip to San Diego, California. The national Hometown Hero event was held there on August 5, 2009 to honor US Navy Operations Specialist Second Class Jose Valazquez. Jose’s 7-year-old son Justin nominated his father to be the ultimate hero because of his many years of serving our country, including a tour of duty in Iraq. Newlywed Channing Tatum, co-star Marlon Wyans and Director Stephen Sommers were on site to pay tribute to Jose with many local officials and fans. G.I. Joe hits theatres tomorrow.
