Oscar Night America will be hosted at Macabre Cinema (which is a haunted house), there will be plenty of fright-night action happening while you’re there, and even a martini bar set up in the Mad Scientist’s Lab area!  Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite celebrity from the past. This will make for a grand evening. Have any suggestions on who I should be?? I have no idea? If you have any great past celebrity ideas for who I could be on Oscar Night suggestions will be taken. Was that Marilyn Monroe? Is that Bogie? Variety of Greater Kansas City will celebrate the 81st Academy Awards by hosting their 15th Annual Oscar® Night America party on February 22, 2009. Themed Haunted Hollywood, guests are invited to come dressed as their favorite celebrity from the past, or in their finest evening attire, for a gala celebration of Hollywood’s biggest night.

This year’s Oscar® Night America event will be held at the Macabre Cinema, 1222 West 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri. The ticket price of $75 includes wine and beer, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres buffet, dessert, and the chance to win exciting door prizes or two roundtrip airline tickets in the “Predict the Winners” contest. The evening will feature a raffle, and live and silent auction items may be purchased by the highest bidder. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Tickets are available for advance purchase online with a credit card at http://www.varietykc.org or by calling Variety of Greater Kansas City at 816-220-2068.

Variety is an international, volunteer-driven organization with 52 active chapters worldwide committed to bettering the quality of life for children with special needs.   Variety of Greater Kansas City – Tent 8 is dedicated to raising funds to assist individual families and to strengthen and reinforce agency programs in the Kansas City area for Kansas City’s special needs children.
