Jodee was my first dog. She is a 6 year old Alaskan Malamute mix. She loves playing fetch and her special quirk is swimming. She is great at it, but she still has not learned how to swim with her paws not being on the waters surface and splashing water everywhere.

Luckey is my protector. He is a 5 year old Chow/Retriever mix. He is a finicky dog that does not like rain, mud or snow. He tip toes around puddles. He has the instinct of a chow and is a ferocious beast at time. He was the cutest puppy ever and he is my Woman’s Best Friend.

Alvin is our strange dog. He is a 4 year old Rottweiler mix. When we adopted him we were told he would only weigh 50-60lbs and now a whopping 108lbs later you can see that was wrong. We love him regardless, he is still our playful pup.

Rocki is the baby. A one year old Saint Bernard. He was abandoned with EIGHT of his siblings off of Shawnee Mission Parkway at a closed down vet hospital. When I took him in and he was the largest of the group. He is rounding off at 90lbs now and is the tallest of our dogs. He loves to swim and runs everywhere. He is very fast and loves the dog park. He hates hardwood/linoleum floors. Aside from this strange behavior he has turned out to be a beautiful and happy dog.

That’s the story on my FOUR kids. Please continue to share yours.

Thanks Jo! Our dog, Shadow, is so funny…when he hears the printer start up he goes nuts and he’ll even take the paper out if we let him. My daughter can really say “the dog ate my homework”!

My husband and i have 3 dogs and they all 3 have there own personalities. They are our children and we protect them from everything we can.
There really spoiled rotten they think there people and not dogs. we wont tell them there not.
When i get a call on my cell phone my dogs relate that to company as grandma comes to see them every morning, and that is there alarm to tell them she is coming so any time my cell phone rings they go to the door waiting for company they think someone is always there to see them.
I could go on and on about my babies it could actually be a book.
I have not seen the movie i am excited about seeing it though as i am an adult but have alot of big kid in me……to all the pet lovers out there take good loving care of your babies as best as you can they rely on us as children to protect and care for them.

Thank you Jo for sharing your dog stories.
My husband and I have three dachshunds. They are our “good kids”.
Kaiser Max is our old man. I adopted him in 1996. He is about 16-17yrs old and their is no one that Max does not love. I named him Kaiser Max because at the time I was working at Kaiser Permanente. He ran in the weiner dog races and came in last.
Megan Roweina is our baby girl. She is a little, 6lbs, red doxie. She is such a sweet little girl and loves to be held.
Teddy Bear is a chocolate doxie and he watches way too much TV!! Every time an animal is on TV he barks and barks at it. What is really strange he barks at cartoon animals also.
The year before Megan and Teddy went on vacation with us to Black Hills, Yellowstone, Glacier Park, Canada, and Colorado. Max stayed home with his doxie cousins and rested. Too long a ride for Max.
All of them go with us to Michigan to visit family and they love to travel. They have a car seat that sits them up high so they can see all in their world. Teddy (of course) will let us know by barking when trucks drive by too close.
We love our family of doxies and we feel their love too.

My family foster puppies and we also have 2 dogs, a cairn terrier named Evy and a lab mix named Toby. They can do many tricks, Toby can cha cha and wave and give you ten or five. He is so funny…he follows a laser light like you would expect a cat to do. Evy is 9, but is very feisty. She holds her own in matches with Toby. She can also wave and is so cute when she cocks her head to try to understand what you are saying.
Toby, who is 2, loves when the puppies come; although he is about 50 lbs, he loves to get on the floor and let the puppies bite his ears and tail and romp all over him!!
Can’t ever imagine life without our dogs!!!
Would love to see the movie…

Our dog, Bailey, is a Beagle/Golden Retriever mix and is a beautiful honey-colored, 45 lb dog. He was born on my son’s 4th birthday, so when we found that out we had to have him! He loves to be held and cuddle up like a small dog. His favorite thing to do is walk up under your foot when you’re sitting on the sofa so that your foot is rubbing his back. He’s a sweet, lovable doggie!
