DEAR JOHN
Directed by Lasse Hallström and based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, DEAR JOHN tells story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by John’s increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas–correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences.

My girls need a night out because…

Martha: I’m a grandma and stuck in between kid’s divorce and their drama…please help

Shaunta: we work hard and we deserver it

Kris: It is nice to be able to get away from the reality of every day life. When your a mother of 3 teenagers and single it’s nice to get out and clear the mind for a couple of hours.

Amber: Most of my friends are stay at home moms. we are so busy during the day taking care of our precious little ones, we need some time to have adult conversation!

Annamarie: KC Cabin fever.Cabin fever after all this snow.

Renee: The New Year has arrived, and before we all get back into the groove of things it would be nice to hang out and have some laughs. ; )

Gail: My girls haven’t been out for a girls night out in some time and this would be a real treat. I would love to have tickets to go

Maxine: We need to preserve our sanity. Men, you can’t live with them and you can’t live without them!

Lori: it was a looong winter break for our kids

Juanita: Girls need a night out because this soooo reminds me of the daily letters I wrote to my husband when he was in the Vietnam War and the continual correspondence we shared prior to our marriage, more than 25 years ago.

Pamela: Girls just want to have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Karen: we just need to go out and have a good time!!

Susie: I moved during the snowstorm- 6 inches of snow- what was I thinking? then my pipes broke at my new house because the garage was open while moving all day- New Years- was so tired I fell asleep before midnight- the first New Years I’ve missed- Christmas Day I shoveled snow at both places until 5:00- I need to take the girls to a movie and get back among the FUN times!!!!

Ginny: mental & emotional health is dependant on “connections” – those moments special to those we are close to.

Crystle: I have 7 kids… ’nuff said

Marlee: To exchange our points of view on a common ground.

Katie: what girl doesn’t?

Amanda: we are overworked and underpaid!

Belinda: I can relate to “JoReviews Fan”. My boyfriend is in the Army and is currently deployed on his third tour in Iraq for a year. The distance makes our relationship challenging but they say absense makes the heart grown fonder. I feel like this movie is telling “our story”. I would love a girls night out because it would give me something to look forward to during this cold lonely winter.

David: Because she works over 40 hours a week for a 40 hour check, she is an awesome person that deserves a great night out!!!!

Lindsay: My girls and I need a night out because all of the snow we’ve been having has kept everyone at home and I miss my ladeeeez.

Penny: We both work very hard she sometimes works 6 days a week. We enjoy going to eat and a movie. This one looks great!!

Christy: I have 3 kids, 3, 5 & 14!! Wouldn’t anyone need a night out.

Lori: I’ve been working at a new, very stressful job that won’t pay me my salary and am living on almost nothing. I”m looking for another job…but still looking. I need a night out.

Martha: I haven’t dated in a year (on purpose) so I can at least go to a movie and maybe get a jump start.

MJ: we never get to see each other & we need to LAUGH.

Amber: when don’t we need a night out with diapers, dishes, dogs, and dodo from multiple sources don’t ask right?

Elijah: My wife deserves a night out to get away from the hectic life of working full time with 3 little kids and having to deal with a pain in the butt husband!

Jennifer: its a new year and the weather has been horrible and we are ready to get out of the house

Shelley: because I have the coolest, most fun friends – we just rarely have that chance to hang out – this would be a GREAT time!

Jon: I never go with her to see chick flicks, but this one looks like a great balance of action and romance.

Khadijah: My moms says she need one you let her have it! She deserves it, its moms!!…Man who would’nt want to see Channing Tatum??

Brandy: SOMETIMES YOU JUST NEED IT. NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS….

Jonna: we need to make the time to stay connected.

Jeremy: They consistantly put up with my stubbornness. What a good way to get a jump start on father/husband of the year. LOL

Diane: we need mother -daughter bonding.

Jennifer: I need a night out because I’m a single full time working mom of a toddler. By day I’m a social worker at a psychiatric hospital caring for mentally ill patients and at night I care for my 2 year old son. Any breaks I can get and tend to myself are greatly appreciated. I have a couple of single mom friends who are in similar situations.

Denise: With all the day-to-day commotion of kids, school, work and significant others my sisters and I don’t have much time to connect. Stealing away to a movie is always a wonderful diversion and treat!

Pamela: They want to have fun!!!!!!!!!!

Lisa: We are all divorced and never get out. All we do is work and pay bills. If we leave a seat between us and Mr. right walks in we can offer him a seat.

Melissa: We are single moms of preschoolers…enough said! LOL!!!

Kim: I had surgery just after Christmas; with all of the snow and frigid weather I haven’t seen my friends since Christmas. We love movies and go to them often as a group. We would LOVE to spend an evening at the movies and have time to catch up with each other!

Germean: My one of best girlfriends needs a nite out. She has a special needs child that she just had to place in a facility after caring for her by herself for years and she is having a hard time with this decision. She deserves to a nice out with her girls.

Sherry: the kids and the dog!

Karen: girls all need to get out to share the things they can’t with their men.

JoReviews Fan: My husband and I both got married at the age of 21. He was in the Navy and was stationed on an air craft carrier in Norfolk, Virginia, (my home town). We’ve been married for for 2 1/2 years. During our marriage, he deployed twice, to the Persian Gulf for 7 month each. During that time I was lucky to have my family there for me and friends to keep my head up. I would think of him every second of every day. I worked a full time job, living with my parents, so that we could save money to buy a house and move to his home town of Kansas City at the end of his term in the navy. I come from a big family, and it was hard to know that i was leaving them to start a life with my husband. The only family he has here is His mom and his 6 year old daughter. We moved to Kansas City last July and we bought a house as planned. I was lucky to find a Graphic Design job with the same company I worked in Virginia. Working there I became really good friends with my co-worker. We’re about the same age and we get along great. I tell her all of my problems. The move was really tough on me. I cried 2-3 times a week being home sick, missing my family back home, especially my grandpa who is very sick. I just recently found out that my oldest sister is pregnant with her first child. My husband is now going to school to become a fire fighter, and he’s changed a lot since we moved here. I think its postpartum depression with him just getting out of the navy. He really hasn’t been there for me emotionally. so i cant tell him how i feel. My co-worker is a great listener. I was new to the area, and i really needed time to not think about how crazy my life has been. She’s introduced me to her group of friends. They are all sweethearts. We’ve gone out to eat, karaoke bars and power and light district. Getting married at 21, i never really got the chance to go out and have a good time till now. I’m 23, and I work full time, while my husband is in school, we have so many bills its ridiculous. I feel like we’re and old married couple, all we do is stay at home and scream at each other about money. There are times when i just need to get away from all of my problems, go out and dance, have a couple of drinks and laugh with my new friends. Some time to refresh my mind, vent to my girls, and for them to tell me that “it’s going to be alright”. I recently just saw the preview for DEAR JOHN, and it hit home for me. i teared up because i lived through not having my husband for 14 months of being deployed. receiving a letter meant the world to both of us. I’m curious to see how similar our lived have been compared to this movie.

Larry: My girl needs a night out cause she lives with me!

Laurie: Me and my girls need a girls night out so we can just get away and have some good ol girl time without our guys. We need it every once in awhile don’t we?

Rebecca: mommy time is needed!

Nicole: I just graduated from nursing school and all I do, everyday, is take care of my 2 year old son and study for NCLEX. I need it! :)

Elishia: My best friend went back to school this semester, and by doing so she has to cut back her hours at work and still support her two rapidly growing boys, so because of this she rarely gets to go out and have a good time! So this would be a perfect girls night adventure! loads of fun and easy on a students wallet!!!

Pam: my friend and i derserve a girls night out because between the 2 of us we have 7 kids and the oldest one of the bunch is 5. i have a 5 yr old, 3 yr old and 1 yr old twins. she has a 4 yr old, 2 yr old and 8 month old. her husband has been laid off for 9 months. she has been at home with him and 3 kids. you can only imagine. :) we would LOVE a night out and if we could we would like to bring another friend with us who has 3 kids and needs a break also. thanks!!!

Abbey: all of my friends are mommies and we RARELY get to hang out all together…and I NEVER go out (with three of them, it’s tough to)!!!!

Aisha: My girls and I need a night out because we are hard working college students stuck in the middle of nowhere at a women’s college. We need a night in the city. That would be amazing.

My cousin has gone through so much in the past year. She has lost her Dad, both Grandmas, and a close friend. She has also been sick herself and at 23 years of age had to get her tonsils out which has been a rough recovery. I want her to have a night out and have just some plain and simple fun for a change.
