Share the love of “Lady and the Tramp” with your loved ones this Valentine’s Day.

It’s an all time classic that I could not be more excited about Disney releasing for the first time on Blu-Ray and DVD. “Lady and the Tramp” (Diamond Edition) hits shelves today February 7, 2012 and could not come at a better time. An absolutely adorable tale that will make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift. It’s Disney’s classic love story about two dogs from opposite tracks that meet and fall in love.

Lady is a lovely young pedigree cocker spaniel who is use to the life of luxury. Tramp is a rugged pooch who lives every day on the edge. Lady at first is hesitant of Tramp and his free style way of living, but soon treks on an adventure with him. The pooches enjoy several fun dates together including the most memorable Disney moment, a romantic spaghetti dinner by moonlight that includes a noodle kiss.

Their love is tested by Lady’s loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby and Tramp’s carless attitude that costs both pups their freedom when they find themselves in the dog pound. As in all fairy tales Tramp proves to have a heart of gold by winning his true love Lady’s heart and the affection of her human family.

The release of “Lady and the Tramp” shows how much has technically improved since the 1950’s. The colors are vibrant and brilliant. The high definition sound will have you enjoying every moment of joyous sounds. The animation is superb and will be a treat for kids of all ages. DVD Bonuses include three never before seen Deleted Scenes, Diane Disney-Miller: Remembering Dad and Puppy Pedia: Going to the Dogs. Share the love of “Lady and the Tramp” with your loved ones this Valentine’s Day.

The Buddies are back for a new adventure. This adventure centers around Mudbud and his owner Pete Howard (Mason Cook). Pete is suppose to be going on a camping trip with his grandpa Thomas (Richard Riehle), but when an amazing archeologist mystery can be solved he decides to travel to Egypt. Taking his grandson along for the amazing discovery.

Upon arriving in Egypt they are in a search to find Cleopatra’s tomb. Pete and his grandfather are unaware that they are being misguided and the treasure is in danger from Philip Wellington (Edward Hermann). Not only is Pete and his grandfather in danger, but so are all the buddies. Wellington’s evil cat is on a mission to find Cleopatra’s tomb as well. Once discovering the tomb she is hoping to find the magical necklace that she will use to make cats rulers of the world.

When Mudbud discovers her plot to take over he calls on his brothers and sister to head to Egypt and save the day. All the buddies hitch a ride and make new friends along the way. Babi a local pick pocket monkey helps the buddies find Pete. Half way into the mission they meet another friend Cammy, a baby camel who is looking to be reunited with her family. Since it seems the buddies and Cammy are all heading the same direction they trek on an adventure in the desert to find their loved ones.

With many dangers along the way the buddies will be there to save the day. “Treasure Buddies” is another fun-filled adventure. This latest installment will be for the older kids, especially with the dialogue used. The visual effects lacked quite a bit and made it hard to watch at times. Fans of the buddies will enjoy “Treasure Buddies”, but might find it missing the magic the others have. Look for it to be released on DVD Tuesday, January 31st. Bonus features include a tour of B-Dawg’s crib and an all new music video.

The time to be festive is here and holiday movies are the perfect way to get in the spirit of things. “Prep & Landing” is an event the whole family can enjoy. Now out on DVD gather the kiddos around and enjoy a quiet evening at home. This short story is an adorable animated comedy. Wayne is an elf with the prep and landing crew and has been putting in many years of work and is very excited for what he thinks will be a promotion offered to him.

Disappointment quickly sets in when Wayne learns his partner received his promotion and he has gained a new rookie partner Lanny. Lanny is eager and filled with holiday cheer. Wayne has become a bit of a scrooge and has forgotten the importance of being on the prep landing crew. When Christmas is almost ruined for a child Wayne takes responsibility and suits up to make the impossible possible.

Wayne with the help of Lanny will save Christmas for one little boy and be reminded of what the holiday is all about. “Prep & Landing” is a special film that can be enjoyed by the entire family. The gadgets these elves have are so hi-tech and make the film very fun to enjoy. The whole prep and landing crew will fill children with the spirit of Christmas and answer all those questions about how Santa delivers all those gifts on Christmas day. “Prep & Landing” is available on DVD now and is loaded with extras. Be sure to get your stocking stuffer and make a little one’s holiday a little brighter!

Some remakes should not happen and “Fright Night” certainly falls into that category. Following the 1985 original “Fright Night” focuses on a curious teenage boy who believes his neighbor is responsible for a string of deaths in the neighborhood. Not only does he believe his neighbor to be a murderer, but a killer that seeks out blood as a vampire. Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) is in with the popular crowd in school, even though he does not seem to be molded to that fit. Struggling to fit in and not alienate former friends it seems Charley is your average teenager with an array of problems. His problems are only beginning when he gets an attractive new neighbor.

Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door and quickly attracts the attention of the most important people in Charley’s life, his mother (Toni Collette) and his girlfriend Amy (Imogen Poots). A little thrown by his charm and odd behavior he does not immediate suspect Jerry, but after his friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) shares his concerns he begins to wonder if he could truly be living next door to a vampire. Charley begins to question it more and decides to test his theory. Once he does his suspicion is proven that Jerry is indeed a vampire and a danger to everyone he cares about.

When everyone thinks Charley is crazy for his belief of vampires he turns to self proclaimed vampire killer and magician Peter Vincent (David Tennant) to help take down Jerry. It turns out that this vampire killer is more of the hide and cry type. Not one to face the evil that appears he runs into hiding. After Charley loses Amy to Jerry he insists that Vincent man up and assists him in the battle against evil. Teaming up the duo will do what it takes to take this dark beast down and save a few lives along the way.

“Fright Night” definitely misses the mark of humor and horror that I would expect. Unless you get humor from laughing at the disaster this film seems to be. The special effects were so bad that I think the 1985 version would have shown it up. There was a great deal of gore which covers part of the horror you would suspect from this type of film. The cast did not have very much chemistry and the performances left me bored to tears. I have to say I am glad I missed this one in theatres but if you really want to check it out be sure to pick up the DVD with deleted and extended scenes, bloopers, and the official “How to Make a Vampire Movie Guide”.

“The Help” is refreshing and possibly the best film of the year.

It’s a riveting tale. “The Help” is a masterpiece that you can’t help but love. Eugenia
‘Skeeter’ Phelan (Emma Stone) is an aspiring writer during the civil rights movement who is looking for a way to express the thoughts of the African-American maid’s working for the white families. Of course this task is not easy and it takes some persuasion to get the maids on board. Once they do the stories begin flowing.

Skeeter is not like the other girls in Mississippi. It is obvious she does not believe in the same things her friends do. Returning from college and determined to become a mainstream writer she will turn the town upside down and lose a few friends along the way. The first maid Skeeter approaches is Aibileen (Viola Davis) who works for Skeeter’s best-friend. At first apprehensive Aibileen refuses to help Skeeter, but after fear that things will never be equal she begins to tell her tale.

Her words are honest and you feel for this woman and her struggles. Revealing the truth of her current job that she is raising Elizabeth’s child (Ahna O’Reilly) and now there is another baby on the way. It is obvious that young Mae Mobley (Emma Henry) has a connection with Aibileen, one that only a mother should have, but Elizabeth does not seem to have a mothering bone in her body and her child is suffering the consequences of that.

As more maids come forward all the stories are making the book into an instant hit. Soon it comes time for one final story, the story from the writer herself, Skeeter who looked at her maid as a mother figure. As truths are revealed Skeeter realizes this book is a masterpiece and something she hopes everyone can learn from.

“The Help” is refreshing and possibly the best film of the year. As many relationships are tested and lost a new sisterhood emerges of woman who are much stronger and independent then they use to be. Oscar worthy performances by Emma Stone and Viola Davis are noticed. Not to mention the amusing Octavia Spencer as Minny Jackson who was a scene stealer throughout the film. Be sure to pick up your copy on Blu Ray/DVD now for some extra bonuses that include deleted scenes, the making of and a tribute to the maids of Mississippi.

Kids will enjoy the first round of watching, but they won't burn out the DVD as they did with “Cars” the original.

After a smash hit in 2006 it was time for another round of the lovable cars. The film was released earlier this year and recently came out on Blu-Ray/DVD. “Cars 2” picks up from the original in Radiator Springs which has done a complete turn around and is a bustling town, thanks in big part to Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson). McQueen is very successful having won four Piston cups and has just received an invitation to participate in the World Grand Prix.

Quickly the story goes from focusing on McQueen to his best buddy Mater (Larry the Cable Guy). Thanks to mistaken identity Mater becomes the center of an investigation. The mysterious tale of espionage becomes confusing with Mater on the case. When a couple spies are brought on the scene we find out that an evil group is out to destroy the World Grand Prix, when the need for them to supply oil is in jeopardy.

As we go on the adventure we visit many glamourous destinations including Japan, Italy and England. Mater is all over the place during the travels and finds himself in some crazy scenarios. Switching Mater to the lead was a sad mistake. “Cars” had a genuine feel that made the film work. It was a heartfelt film that gave children something to enjoy from beginning to end. “Cars 2” can not do the same. It lacks in many areas and was unappealing to the youngsters.

McQueen’s lacking in the lead was a major factor that took away form the magic the original had. The mysterious spy plotting added another unnecessary layer. The Blu Ray did offer superb vivid colors during many scenes. The audio had an exceptional soundtrack and was very clear and crisp. The added bonus of audio commentary, the short of Hawaiian Vacation and Air Mater was a great addition. “Cars 2” may be lacking in some areas, but they all can’t be winners. Kids will enjoy the first round of watching, but they won’t burn out the DVD as they did with “Cars” the original.

Captain Jack Sparrow is back again and bad as ever. In Stranger Tides opening scenes he is already an imposter and plotting an escape. The diversion does not go as smoothly as planned, as does any of Sparrow’s plan. Jack Sparrow and his First Mate Gibbs (Kevin McNally) are caught in the midst of escaping and will be spared only if they agree to partake in an expedition to find the mystified Fountain of Youth.

King George II (Richard Griffiths) of England orders the Captain and his team of pirates to find the legendary fountain before another explorer does so for Spain. Jack must improvise on his travels since his ship the Black Pearl was lost at sea. He joins ship with the legendary Blackbeard (Ian McShane) in the hunt. While at sea on the Queen Anne’s Revenge Sparrow must deal with Blackbeard and the magical spell that has been cast by his ruthless daughter Angelica (Penelope Cruz).

Along the way to their discovery they must battle monstrous mermaids and the many distractions that every pirate must face. In the end Captain Jack Sparrow proves to be an imperious pirate with another battle won. “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” is another enjoyable action adventure in the series. Slightly different version from the ones with his original comrades. Penelope Cruz was a nice addition, but you could notice a definite loss from Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. Overall another enjoyable flick to be enjoyed by your adventurous tween/teen. Make sure to stay till closing credits for a sneak peek at Jack Sparrow’s next adventure.

The 2 disc Blu-Ray combo comes with extra features including audio commentary from the director and producer, bloopers and Disney’s second screen feature. In stores everywhere today!

If you did not think this animation could top itself you were wrong. The latest Blu-Ray version is quite impressive. In “The Lion King” we are taught the circle of life and how animal existence thrives with it. The young lion prince is born and everyone is rejoicing. Everyone except Scar, the young cubs uncle who is having a difficult time accepting the new prince who is the heir. When Scar can’t accept his dull future he takes initiative.

Taking charge Scar decides he is what is best for the lion’s future and puts a plan in motion. The start of his plan is to rid of Mufasa (Simba’s Father) and convince his son Simba that he is at fault for his demise. Feeling all alone and to blame for the loss of his father Simba flees the town and his pack and starts over new.

Once Simba and Mufasa are out of control, Scar takes over and destroys all the hope and love that kept the circle of life in tact. Meanwhile Simba is connecting with new friends and starting over, until his old life crosses paths with his new ones. Simba’s old friend Nala has a happy reunion with her old friend and informs him of how life has been turned upside down because of his uncle. He returns to make things right and become the prince he was destined to be.

“The Lion King” is one of the best animations with music to match. Every musical scene was a magical sensation. The Blu-Ray made is ten times more enjoyable with high definition sound and animated scenes. Still one of the best Disney movies to date this film reminds you why it is still called that. A wonderful message about family and friendship and having pride in who you are. Still a magical film that will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Another magical experience that will have the mother’s crying and the kids cheering!

Another classic has been re-mastered with Disney. “Dumbo” will be celebrating its 70th anniversary with an all-new digital restoration of the original classic. Improving its High Definition sound and brilliant picture. The inspiring tale of Dumbo, a baby elephant who finds the courage to use his marvelous ears and soar high.

With the help of his best friend Timothy Q. Mouse he becomes a confident elephant who proves he is no laughing matter. Dumbo demonstrates how wonderful diversity is and how everyone should be accepting. There are a lot of good lessons to be learned by children of all ages in this classic film.

We have come a long way with animation and it is not the best film to keep younger children’s attention at length but it is one of the most inspiring and magical tales. The music is superb at helping empower Dumbo to take flight and soar to heights that nobody could expect.

One of the best restorations Disney has provided to date. The colorful circus and amazing acts will have the kids entertained just as much as Ringling Bros. The award-winning music and empowering message about friendship will have you charmed. Another magical experience that will have the mother’s crying and the kids cheering!

"Spooky Buddies” is a perfect howling surprise for all the little ghouls out there.

It’s getting to that spooky time of the year. What better way for the youngsters to get prepared then to catch the latest Buddies movie. “Spooky Buddies” that is. The buddies are back for action and it is a spectacular time of the year. It’s Halloween and the pups are getting into mischief when they visit a mysterious mansion and dare to be scared.

As they attempt to test fate they are in danger by the evil Warlock the Magician. As the adorable talking pups team up with new friends, including a friendly ghost they will embark on a Halloeves adventure they won’t soon forget.

“Spooky Buddies” does it again with another fun-filled adventure. Full of action and comedy that will have kids enjoying every second of this mystery. There are a few scary moments with the Halloween Hound and his glowing green eyes, so this might be a better watched during daylight or for the four and up crowd. The Blu Ray offers superb sound effects. It was amazing in capturing the Halloween spook sounds of chains dragging. Even the cardboard sleeve is exciting with a 3-D overlay featuring the “Spooky” dog.

“Spooky Buddies” is a perfect howling surprise for all the little ghouls out there. Available on DVD and Blu-Ray everywhere.
