PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 Movie Review
You would think there can only be only so much paranormal activity in one family, I guess that is not so. In “Paranormal Activity 3” we are taken into the past of Katie (Katie Featherston) and Kristi Rey (Sprague Grayden). With the help of video footage we get a glimpse into how the chilling events began. Something that looked innocent at first quickly turns terrifying. It begins with a young Kristi Rey (Jessica Tyler Brown) and her “imaginary” friend Toby. However when strange noises and misplaced items begin to occur the girl’s stepfather Dennis (Christopher Nicholas Smith) lets his curiosity get the best of him and begins filming the house.
Setting up multiple cameras he begins capturing strange events that occur in the night. Unexplained figures, lights going on and off, Kristi Rey playing and talking to someone in the middle of the night and objects moving on their own. Dennis initially keeps his findings to himself in an attempt to not scare his wife Julie (Lauren Bittner), but when he realizes that this ‘ghost/spirit’ might be out to harm his family they quickly vacate the home and go to stay with the girl’s grandmother.
Things only get stranger and deeper into a dark story from there. I think “Paranormal Activity 3” is much better than the first two for a couple reasons. One factor being the young girls in this film that terrified you. You could feel their fear and seeing one sister having no fear and the other being scared to death was perfection. Another reason this one surpasses its predecessor is the addition of comedy to the film. Comedy that comes from Dustin Ingram as Randy Rosen, Dennis’ close friend who is assisting in the video footage research of the home. He is a star in the making that made “Paranormal Activity 3” the best in the bunch. If you are ready for a scare and maybe a sleepless night check out this edition and be prepared for some unanswered questions and a few new answers!

What a crappy review. You are willing to overlook the major plot errors (e.g. No fire that was mentioned in both films before this one, mom’s inexplicable change of fate, the absurdity of filming the last sequence the way it was shot, etc) because you thought one of the minor characters cracked a good joke or two? There is a reason audiences were suckered into seeing this movie by a misleading trailer–it sucked.
