The Adjustment Bureau
Is our every move planned in advance? Is our future already pre-determined? Those are the questions you’ll be asking after watching “The Adjustment Bureau”. Matt Damon stars as David Norris a young New York politician who has everything going for him, but finds he wants more after fate shows him a life he could have that includes love. David has a chance encounter with Elise (Emily Blunt), a ballet dancer who he has a powerful connection to.
As time passes by David runs into the same girl in one of the busiest cities. This time he makes sure to get her number and has every intention of getting to know her. But his pre-determined plan does not include Elise. When David walks in on adjustments being made by strange men he tries to escape, but finds himself trapped in a world that makes little sense. David is surrounded and listens to what these men have to tell him. Their group is known as “The Adjustment Bureau”, a group of men who work for a higher power ensuring that you follow the path in life that is set out for you.
They make small adjustments as needed to keep you on track. These men are fast moving and mysterious David is shocked by their revelation, but is even more appalled at their request. They tell David he can not contact Elise, she is not part of his plan. David finds this hard to believe given the connection he feels to Elise, so his passion takes over and he refuses to stay away. The Bureau won’t make it easy for him as they destroy her number and tell him they will intervene at all costs.

Chemistry was strong between the fated lovers Matt Damon and Emily Blunt which only intensified this banned romance. The Adjustment workers were mysterious and have you believing in a whole other world. “The Adjustment Bureau” is a strong mystifying story that lays it all out and has you choosing fate over the plan.
