I was only four when it was released in theatres, but by the time I was seven I was enthralled. “Dirty Dancing” captivated me with its melody beats and artistic dancing. Because of this film I feel in love with dancing. I remember watching the VHS copy so many times that I broke the tape and had to get a new one. Not only was the dancing my favorite part, but I feel in love with Johnny. Everyone should know Johnny’s line, “No one puts Baby in the corner”, and from that moment on I was infatuated. Patrick Swayze had caught my eye and became my FIRST Hollywood crush. He’s tall, dark, and handsome with moves that were majestic.

To my sorrow Patrick Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer today. He was only 57. This romantic leading man left the world much too soon. Swayze had been facing the challenge of his life for the last 20 months. During a recent interview with Barbara Walters he admitted to his fears, fears that anyone would have in his predicament. Despite those fears he proved to be a strong fighter, confronting the media early in the year in regard to speculation about his health, saying that such questions “cast a negative shadow on the positive and good fight I’m fighting.”

Patrick thank you for your gift to Hollywood. Your fight has now ended and may you find the peace you so deserve as you dance with the angels.
