17 Again

zac-efron-17-again-posterTo my amazement “17 Again” is the surprise film of 2009. Starring the adorable Zac Efron as the high school stud Mike O’Donnell who grows up and finds himself miserable with life. The elder Mike O’Donnell is portrayed by the natural comedic Matthew Perry who is married to his high school sweetheart Scarlett (Leslie Mann). When he finds his life is falling apart around him Mike takes an age defying reversal back to when he was 17 to repeat his past.

The quesion is What would you do if you got a second shot at life?

Mike O’Donnell was the star of the high school basketball team back in 1989. With college scouts in the stands and a bright future ahead, but when he learned his girlfriend was pregnant he decided to throw it all away to share his life with her and the baby. Fast forward 20 years and Mike’s good old days are gone. His marriage has fallen apart, he just lost his job, his teenagers think he is a loser, and he has been crashing with his high school friend Ned (Thomas Lennon). Mike is given that second chance when he is transformed back to his youth of 17. Sadly he looks 17, but Mike is totally out of touch with the class of 2009. Trying to recapture his best years, Mike could lose the best things that ever happened to him.

“17 Again” is a tale of reliving life and remembering what is most important. Zac Efron was definitely the star of this film. Efron made himself very captivating to the audience and captured perfectly the 40 year old man stuck in the 17 year old body. The cast was well selected and offered wonderful performances. “17 Again” was a film most teenage girls will swoon over, and I guess I found myself being 17 Again in doing so too.

If you were one of the select JoReviews visitors to see the film let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Made me feel young all over again. I would recommend this movie to any girls or women….i found that all the men that went as well really enjoyed the movie as well.
The movie has alot of truth to everyday life and how kids are now adays open and such with relationships and makes some people realize what they have given up in there lives in there past and wished they didnt because of impulse or last minute pressured decisions.
In all i loved the movie. 4 out of 5 popcorns
