On a mildly cold Kansas City evening I headed to the West Bottoms for Oscar Night America. Upon arrival at Macabre Cinema we steped onto the red carpet and with the flashing bulbs we immediately felt like celebrities. While awaiting our elevator ride we were entertained with performances of Michael Jackson’s thriller. Once on the elevator we are taken up several stories and step out of the fog into another time. Surrounded by Hollywood’s finest stars of the past. We dined on an appetizing buffett and received many cocktails. Upon entering the Mad Scientist Martini Bar we found a room full of excitement with a great view of the Oscars. Making sure to place bids at the silence auction full of great items. From AMC passes, to movie memorbilla and Spa packages. A beautiful diamond necklace was auctioned off for $500. After viewing the great items available at the silent auctions I am sure the evening was quite sucessfull. Variety put on a spectacular Oscar night, hosted by Larry Moore. Everyone came out to benefit the children at this unique event that was sure to be enjoyed by all.
