Feb. 17th Releases
This week is a big week for DVD releases. From a pop culture hit Disney show to Academy Award nominated actress Angelina Jolie in Changeling. With so much to choose from what will your pick be? Here are the options:
Body of Lies: Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Roger Ferris who is fighting terrorists for the CIA in this thriller from director Ridley Scott (GLADIATOR, BLACK HAWK DOWN). While Ferris gets his hands dirty on the teeming Arab streets, his handler Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe) watches from Washington via spy satellite. Innocent lives are lost, buildings blow up, and the threat of winding up beheaded on the internet is always one move away.
Changeling: My #1 film of the year. Changeling is a powerful and heart jerking true story. The amazing Angelina Jolie takes you back to the 1920’s era and you feel her pain and desperation for closure. The other wow factor is offered from Clint Eastwood, behind the camera, again offering another stellar role as director. This film is one to take notice at. With a powerful performance and storyline you won’t be left dissatisfied. This film is up for grabs in the freebies section.
Quarantine: An adaptation of the 2007 Spanish film REC, Quarantine chronicles the outbreak of a rabies-like disease in a Los Angeles apartment building and the struggle of the unaffected residents to stay alive after the authorities trap them inside in an effort to contain it. Film is presented through the eye of a video camera, putting the audience in the middle of the action and creating a heightened level of intensity and realism. Television reporter Angela (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman, Scott (Steve Harris), are covering the goings-on at a firehouse for a program about night shift workers. Then all hell breaks loose, unfortunately for Angela and the rest of the uninfected residents, the authorities have quarantined the building—but she and Scott continue to document the tragic and terrifying events inside the building as those inside are one by one transformed into bloodthirsty monsters.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year: The first High School Musical movie to be released straight to the silver screen finds the cast of the beloved earlier installments, all students at East High, dealing with the ups and downs of senior year. While all the characters have their own dilemmas, the central issue, as in past films, is the relationship between sweethearts Troy (Zac Efron), the captain of East High’s Wildcats basketball team, and the bookish Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), who face the possibility of imminent separation when Gabriella gets a chance to attend college early. With this third outing in the wildly popular Disney series, director Kenny Ortega takes full advantage of HSM3′s big-screen leap, staging musical numbers that go far beyond the scope of the movie’s predecessors (see the lavish “I Want It All” by resident East High diva Sharpay, played by Ashley Tisdale). As an added bonus this week we are giving away this DVD in our freebies section. Take the quiz and answer correctly to win!!
